Yunel Escobar Eye Black Controversy

Idiot.
Just when you think you've seen it all, someone goes and does something like this. On Saturday in a game against the Red Sox, Blue Jays shortstop Yunel Escobar decided it would be a good idea to experiment with his eye black. Many stars over the years have used the eye black "patches" instead of the regular eye black "paint," because the patches allow you to write on them. Usually these messages have Biblical references, for example like Tim Tebow did in college for the University of Florida. Others, like Reggie Bush, chose to write something that displays where they are from, like their area code. (Both Tebow and Bush are pictured at the bottom)

Yunel Escobar took the eye black messages to a whole new level. Under one eye, the message read, "Tu ere," and under the other was "maricon." The full phrase of, "Tu ere maricon" translates into "You are a faggot," in English. Sick bro. There is literally no reason for that to be said, or especially advertised by professional athletes who have thousands of eyes on them every time they do anything. Children who look up to these players will think gay slurs are ok and funny, while they simply aren't. Bud Selig needs to hold Escobar accountable for this and make sure anything like this never happens again.

One Last Thing: I don't know what Escobar will say to get out of this one, but if I were him, I would say I didn't think anyone was watching because it was a Red Sox-Blue Jays game. Both teams are pure garbage, and Escobar must have thought this was his opportunity to finally show his displeasure with homosexuals. Who knows? The Blue Jays play north of the border, maybe this is allowed there. Canadians are weird.

RIGHT WAYS TO WRITE ON EYE BLACK
"Mark 8:36" means "What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?"

"619" for Bush's area code
