Possible Yankees Collapse Makes Me Feel Warm Inside

Hairline like LeBron, Swing like Rey Ordonez
God I love to see the Yankees flounder. I love it. Reminds me of every year when the Mets do the same thing. Except Yankee fans don't know how to deal with it. "Trade A-rod," "Girardi is the worst," "We need Felix Hernandez, Cashman, help," "Cashman sucks." Just gives me that old fashioned feeling, where I'd do anything to see them not make the playoffs. Teixeira is a total hack now and way over-priced, Phil Hughes never developed, CC cant stay healthy. The Bombers are basically banking on old Andy Pettitte to come back with his crutches and hurl a decent 7 and I gotta say, that's about as likely as the Mets making the playoffs. Now no one likes to see 10 game leads evaporate like water on a grill in July, but when it happens to the Yankees or the Red Sox, its kinda tasty. It's something that leaves you saying, "Wow, I like how that feels, watching other people lose the wagon and totally implode like toddlers playing Jenga."

This may just be the bitter ramblings of a dejected Mets fan. By the way they lost a game yesterday, almost directly because the umpire was convinced the Mets were so bad that they don't touch first base when they go for a double. Hey can't blame him really, but he was wrong and should get his knee caps busted with a bat, I digress. Yankee fans are a pretty loyal bunch, I'll say that, but it's pretty easy to be loyal when you win 27 championships and are in the postseason every year. Let's see what happens if this team completes the fully and doesn't get to play in October. I wonder how the people will react and whose head is called for first. My money's on Girardi, obviously, he's already vilified despite winning a championship. No playoffs would be the certain nail in his coffin.

PS. Rays are handing it to the Yanks right now, they're just a real solid ball club. They do all of the little things and then boom, start teeing off long balls off junk balls thrown by Freddie Garcia. Baseball's a funny game.

PPS. Does Tim Kurkjian ever leave Elias Sports Bureau's website looking for obscure facts that could be half-way relevant to the game he's covering? Guy straight up says facts that no one thinks about.
