Predictions For The Jets Opener Vs. Da Bills

Committed, or at least will be.
After a piss poor preseason, there's not much in the way of optimism for us Jet fans. Sanchez sucked, Tebow sucked, only Greg McElroy was able to chuck a score, and he's got the arm strength of Chad Pennington and the mouth of Namath...kinda surprised he's not starting. They have little depth at wide out with Pat Turner and Santonio Holmes as the main targets and rook Stephen Hill competing with Jeremy Kerley for the slot. Those two are basically trying to see who's the best of the worst at the moment.  The defense is still solid under Rexy, but defense can only get you so far, unless they're expecting to pitch a shut out every week. Shonn Greene needs to start running over folks because the O-line looks like a Pop Warner team. Hopefully Joe McKnight can recover from his pay cut after college and make some big plays on special teams and on 3rd down.

The Bills are usually at the bottom of the AFC East, but still get the better of the Jets. This season, the Bills are the ones with the expectations, so maybe it'll go the other way in this one. The Jets come in as the 'dogs and the Bills are expected to dispatch them with little problem. If the Jets can neutralize Mario Williams, they have a pretty good shot at maybe scoring a TD or two. The secondary has got to be aggressive with Stevie Johnson and Co. otherwise it's going to be a long day. Revis is lockdown and Cro can kinda cover when he's up for it. I think a turnover could make the difference in this one.

As long as Sanchez doesn't start hurling waffles to the safety and is smart with the football, I like our chances. A divisional win in Week 1 would be a huge boost for the dejected Jets. So let's pray to Tebow that we play the way we did in '09 for at least a couple of weeks this year. Just long enough to crush our hearts later when the inevitable collapse happens in the second half of the season.

Score: 21-13 Jets

Sanchez throws a TD, no picks and about 200 Yards. Shonn Greene rushes for a buck thirty on 25 carries (ideally). Defense is stout, and causes a couple turnovers and the game's end has little drama (please God).
