Nets close to deal with Andray Blatche

Reports have surfaced that the Brooklyn Nets are closing in on a non guaranteed deal that would land Andray Blatche within the next week. Blatche's points and rebounds averages rose each of his first six years in the league, topping out at 16.8 pts and 8.3 rebs a game in 2010-2011, before dropping to 8.5 pts and 5.8 rebs last season in just 26 games. To make matters worse, Blatche shot 38% from the field, the worst shooting percentage of his career.

I like this move by the Nets. This is what they're all about. They go after the superstars of the game. When they can't get a LeBron, they get Deron Williams. When they can't get Dwight, they get Andray Blatche, of course the next best thing. Sure he doesn't get as many biddies as the man he will play behind, Kris Humphries, but this dude can ball. He's got the talent he just needs to piece it all together.

Then people say well he isn't a good locker room guy. I disagree. I mean take his near triple double game for example (video below). This is a guy who works his tush off. It isn't enough that they're about to beat the Nets. He wants more. He's hungry. He doesn't settle for anything less than the best. There's 30 seconds left and he's hustling the most he has since that night with that poor avocado. Not only that, but he even gets on his teammate when he makes a mistake. Then to top it all off, he politely asks Yi Jianlian to let him get the offensive rebound. I mean half the league can't even pronounce Yi's name. This dude Andray is going out there making friends. Nobody wants to be friends with Asians, nobody, but this dude is doing what he must. Class act. Sign him up!
