Perfection for King Felix

27 up, 27 down! What a feat for the fireballer, and no city or team needed it more. Seattle, what a terrible place in terms of sports. It's a place where the soccer team, yes soccer AF, holds the hottest ticket in town. A place where baseball hasn't been relevant since the Randy Johnson and Griffey days. A place where Matt freaking Hasselbeck was relevant. A place that was stripped of it's basketball team, which has now turned into a powerhouse, and will most likely stay that way for years to come.

But back to the baseball team. One guy, on the whole team hits above .250 (Jesus Montero, former Yankee great), and the only name on the squad that anyone knows is Felix Hernandez. The Mariners refuse to trade this guy. The guy who now has cemented his name into baseball immortality. The guy who now also can chill with Kate Upton whenever he wants to because he's a part of "The Perfect Club." Eat it Verlander.

The sad thing is, we won't see King Felix pitch in the playoffs any time soon, or even pitch in a game that matters. That is, unless he repeats this feat that has only occurred 23 times at the Major League level. So King Felix, go out and celebrate. You've earned it. But tomorrow you will wake up hungover, and still 13.5 games out of first place.

One Last Thing: Now that I think about it, King Felix has it all figured out.  He signed a deal worth $80 mil, works maybe 35 days a year, and has like 330 off days. He also doesn't have any stress with his job. No big games, and if he gets shelled and they lose 10-0, the fans will most likely blame the hitters. Hernandez probably let's the other team get a hit in the early innings so he doesn't have to worry about a pressure cooker like a perfect game. He simply did this one because he wanted to. Power move by Hernandez, it all makes sense now.
