Prized Recruit Jabari Parker Chooses Duke

The Cameron Crazies have a lot to be proud of this season. Their Blue Devils are already 10-0 and the number one team in the country. They also have already beaten the number 2, 3, and 4 ranked teams in Louisville, Kentucky, and Ohio State respectively.

Now this afternoon, one of the most coveted recruits in the country, Jabari Parker, announced that he will be attending Duke University next fall. The 6'8" forward out of Simeon Career Academy in Chicago announced his decision on live television in a much anticipated decision.

Along with Duke, Parker was also considering Michigan State, Florida, Stanford, and also BYU. In the end Parker went with the Blue Devils, citing that legendary head coach Mike Krzyzewski had been guiding him throughout his years at Simeon.

In high school, Parker has led Simeon to three consecutive state titles, and the team is looking to be the second ever to accomplish this feat. However, this season has gotten off to a poor start for the superstar, as he broke a bone in his ankle and is currently trying to get back to his normal form.

Parker was the number one recruit for a long time until Canadian recruit Andrew Wiggins reclassified to the same class. Wiggins is deciding between Florida State, Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio State, Syracuse, and North Carolina. How crazy would it be if Wiggins went to North Carolina and one of the best rivalries in sports had these two headlining the games?

One Last Thing: Christmas sure came early for Krzyzewski and the Blue Devils, and Tom Izzo and Michigan State definitely have a sour taste left in their mouth. The race was supposedly between these two schools and Izzo being right in Michigan, had the inside track. Parker even stated that Izzo had seen him play the most, but Parker made the best decision for him, and that was Duke.
